Infrastructure construction touches upon various aspects of people’s livelihoods, including culture, sports, education, science and technology, healthcare, and administrative offices. As China’s economy continues to grow, people’s demand for spiritual well-being—such as health, leisure, and entertainment—will only increase. However, there remains a gap compared to developed countries, and the distribution of resources is uneven. Taking healthcare as an example, China’s per capita medical resources fall below the levels seen in developed countries, and urban residents enjoy more than 2.5 times the medical resources available to rural residents (the three regions with the most abundant resources are Beijing, Shanghai, and Tianjin). Consequently, the focus of the infrastructure construction industry will gradually shift from first-tier cities—driven by their “spillover effects”—to second- and third-tier cities, thereby boosting the development of the infrastructure construction market in these smaller cities.
