Since 2020, the Municipal Market Supervision Administration and the Municipal Consumer Protection Committee, in collaboration with multiple departments, have actively launched the “Peace-of-Mind Consumption Initiative” by expanding formats, diversifying platforms, promoting self-regulation, and fostering joint creation and co‑construction. This time, in partnership with the Nanqiao District Government and the District Market Supervision Bureau, they have created a consumer rights‑protection themed plaza that centers on five key areas—consumer safety, quality, pricing, service, and rights protection—ensuring consumers can “have peace of mind” in each. The plaza comprises more than a dozen informational stations, including a 12315 consumer‑rights bulletin board, a comic‑strip–themed leisure corridor, a 12315‑themed flowerbed, and interactive warning signs. Rich in consumer‑rights content and highly engaging, it infuses residents’ leisure time with a spirit of informed and empowered consumption.
In addition, the Municipal Market Supervision Administration and the Municipal Consumer Protection Commission, in collaboration with the Nanqiao District Market Supervision Administration and the District Consumer Protection Commission, have established a municipal-level community rights‑protection service station and a consumer‑education demonstration site in the Huxin Road residential community, integrating consumer guidance, education, and rights protection into a cohesive framework. The consumer‑rights‑protection themed plaza will also host regular and ad hoc events on consumer‑rights issues, inviting food‑safety experts, public‑interest lawyers, and volunteer advocates to educate local residents on relevant topics, using real‑world cases to illustrate key principles. These efforts aim to enhance the effectiveness of consumer‑rights services, advance collaborative governance, facilitate amicable resolution of consumer disputes, and enable residents to address infringements encountered during shopping right at their doorstep. By making the safeguarding of consumers’ legitimate rights more convenient and routine, this initiative seeks to bolster community residents’ sense of gain, well‑being, and security.
