Li Ming, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Anhui Provincial People’s Congress, attended the award ceremony and toured the exhibition showcasing the competition’s achievements.
This competition was hosted by the Provincial Department of Veterans Affairs and the Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security, with the theme “Showcasing the Distinguished Spirit of Veterans and Pioneering the Vanguard of Entrepreneurship and Innovation.” The 95 participating projects spanned five major categories: emerging industries, traditional industries and lifestyle services, modern agriculture, targeted poverty alleviation, and innovative teams. After fierce competition, the event ultimately awarded 5 First Prizes, 10 Second Prizes, and 16 Third Prizes. The Provincial Department of Veterans Affairs will select and recommend the winning projects to participate in the national competition scheduled for the end of the year.
In recent years, our province has implemented a series of measures in areas such as policy and funding to provide targeted support for veterans starting their own businesses. We have introduced preferential policies including startup subsidies and tax and fee reductions, and developed entrepreneurship guarantee loans for veterans, with individual borrowers eligible for up to RMB 150,000 and enterprises eligible for up to RMB 3 million. We have established veteran entrepreneurship incubation bases and set up dedicated zones for veteran entrepreneurs within public entrepreneurship platforms, offering integrated policy benefits and end-to-end support services to help veterans launch and grow their businesses. To date, a total of 137 such bases have been officially recognized across the province, creating stable employment for more than 30,000 veterans.
