Li Ming, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People’s Congress, attended the award ceremony and toured the exhibition showcasing the competition’s achievements.
This competition is hosted by the Provincial Department of Veterans Affairs and the Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security, with the theme “Showcase the Distinguished Spirit of Veterans and Take the Lead in Entrepreneurship and Innovation.” The 95 participating projects cover five major categories: emerging industries, traditional industries and lifestyle services, modern agriculture, targeted poverty alleviation, and innovative teams. After fierce competition, the final winners were awarded: five first-place awards, ten second-place awards, and sixteen third-place awards. The Provincial Department of Veterans Affairs will select and recommend the winning projects to participate in the national competition to be held at the end of the year.
In recent years, our province has implemented a series of measures—covering policies and funding—to provide targeted support for veterans starting their own businesses. We have introduced preferential policies such as startup subsidies and tax and fee reductions, and developed entrepreneurship guarantee loans specifically for veterans, with individual borrowers eligible for loans up to RMB 150,000 and enterprises up to RMB 3 million. We have also established entrepreneurship incubation bases for veterans, setting up dedicated zones for veteran entrepreneurs on public entrepreneurship platforms to offer integrated policy benefits and comprehensive follow-up services. As of now, the province has officially designated a total of 137 such bases, helping more than 30,000 veterans secure stable employment.
